SAFE PLACES TO VISIT IN DRC!
The Democratic Republic of Congo offers a variety of safe and exciting places to explore. From Kahuzi Beiga National Park for Gorilla trekking to the stunning Zongo Falls and the cultural experiences of Moada and Bonobo trekking, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit Idjwi Island, which is the largest island in Lake Kiva located in the South Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bukavu, the capital of South Kivu, is the closest major city to the island. Here, you will interact with the pygmies, understand their unique culture and way of life.
You can also explore the mighty Congo River and the vibrant capital of Kinshasa.

While exploring this amazing country, it's important to keep your belongings secure and be cautious of petty thieves and annoying immigration officers. Avoid crowds and protests, as even peaceful demonstrations can escalate into violence. Be mindful of your surroundings and stay away from areas where protests are happening.

While in DRC, You should Know that;
You must have a visa before arrival, as visas are not available on arrival. However, we can provide a document to help you obtain a visa on arrival in certain situations, such as when visiting Kahuzi Beiga National Park in Bukavu, or if there is no DRC embassy in your home country. It is mandatory for all travelers entering DRC to have a yellow fever card or proof of vaccination.

It is important to be mindful of your surroundings and avoid taking photos of key government buildings or military installations, as this could lead to serious consequences, including arrest. Police and military checkpoints are common in DR Congo, and it is essential to have your passport and visa ready for inspection. It is also prohibited to wear clothing that resembles military attire, as this can lead to trouble.
Respect these guidelines and you will have a safe and enjoyable visit to DRC.

Health Tips
In order to safely travel to the Congo, it is essential that you have your yellow fever vaccination card ready for presentation upon arrival. The Congo is known to have a high prevalence of foodborne, waterborne, and other infectious diseases, so it is crucial to take precautions during your visit.

To protect yourself from mosquito-borne illnesses, such as malaria, be sure to sleep under a mosquito net every night and use mosquito repellent. Additionally, waterborne diseases are common in the Congo, so it is recommended to only consume water that is cooked or bottled. Avoid eating raw vegetables and fruits that you are unsure of to prevent any potential illness.

Stay informed about any Ebola outbreaks in the DR Congo by keeping up to date with local news. In the event of an outbreak, avoid close contact with Ebola patients to protect yourself from the disease. Unlike with Covid19, Ebola is much easier to prevent with proper precautions.

Given the high risk of HIV/AIDS in the Congo, always practice safe sex by using protection when engaging in sexual activities with individuals you do not know or trust. By following these guidelines, you can ensure a safe and healthy trip to the Congo.
