Your tour will begin bright and early, with a friendly driver picking you up from either your hotel or the airport in Kigali. As you travel from Kigali to Rusizi near the Rwanda/Congo border, your knowledgeable driver will share fascinating insights about Congo and its rich cultural heritage. 

The scenic journey will take approximately 6 hours, culminating in your arrival in Rusizi where you will be treated to a comfortable night's stay at a charming lodge or hotel. After a delicious dinner, you can relax and rest as you prepare for tomorrow. 

This day activity involves starting your day with breakfast before heading to the border to cross into Bukavu in Congo. After completing immigration formalities, you will be driven to Kahuzi Biega National Park for eastern lowland gorilla tracking. Once at the national park, you will join a group for a briefing before embarking on a thrilling gorilla trek in the Kahuzi Biega forest. 

The duration of the trek will vary depending on the location of the gorilla family, ranging from 1 to 4 hours. Once you locate the gorillas, you will have the incredible opportunity to spend an hour observing them in their natural habitat. Witness their fascinating behavior, capture unforgettable photos, and experience their powerful presence. 

You will be awestruck by their size, strength, and intelligence, making the safari experience truly unforgettable. In the afternoon, you will return to your lodge, reflecting on the once-in-a lifetime encounter with these magnificent creatures. 

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your lodge or hotel before being chauffeured back to Kigali. On the last day of your tour, you will have a city tour of Bukavu town on your way to the border. While on the Rwandan side, you will have the option to either stay in Kigali or catch a flight out of the city. The return journey will take you through the Rwanda-Congo border, where you can choose to take photos, pick up souvenirs, or simply unwind before heading back to Kigali
